Barcelona really offers a multitude of places where to eat and try amazing dishes, weird combinations and classical creations with a spark of gourmet and all for an affordable price while enjoying a drink or two.

(UNFORTUNATELY THE PLACE IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED, BUT WILL SOON REOPEN)
One of the things I loved the most in this city, that literally swallows you in all its beauty, is to get lost in the narrow, little streets and discover new spots where try new things and let them surprise me. If the place conquers me because it pleasantly falls within the mental canons that I have set in head (and that although slightly different, I use also for shopping and many other "vital" daily life decisions), such as: location, quality, price, creativity and quantity, I will want to go back and probably make it one of my favourite spots.
The nice thing about Barcelona and the variety of food & drinks offer, is that you never stop to discover places, which might be better than the ones you thought were the best in that context until then. I, for example, just recently discovered an 'all you can eat sushi' which is much better than the one I went for the last 2-3 years, and guess what?! it's on the same street!

So this is how I discovered, a friend of a friend, just had opened the first 'bubbles' bar in town.
Sparkling wine, champagne, spumante, cava, however you want to call it, the meaning implies the same, wonderful little bubbles of happiness that run down your throat.
This is what Burbujas stands for, but besides having a wide variety of bubbly wines, it has a lot other varieties too, besides all the usual cocktails, the best sangria I've ever tasted, Hugo (sparkling wine, mint and a touch of elderberry syrup) and Spritz.
This cozy, hidden treasure, is in fact is the first bar in town that serves Catalan frizzy only.
Its menu accounts for more than 30 types of cava, which they get directly and exclusively from Catalonia vineyards.
“Penedès, Xarel·lo, Parellada, Macabeo - from every single brand, there are different mixes of grapes and tastes. Crisp, elegant, fruity - it is you who chooses the taste or the bubbles size”
(says DJ Zlata, Burbujas ideologist and creator)
There's a touch of class in the choice of accompanying their cava with classic Fine de Claire oysters coming directly from Normandie.
There's an amazing offer for the big fans or the frequent customers: a glass of Tres Naus Brut plus one oyster for just 5€, or for those who feel like sharing the experience: a bottle of the bubbly and 6 oysters for 25€. Lovers of good wine and tapas will be happy here.

The venue is decorated by Zlata with great attention to details mixing elegance with minimalism, but the staff is so friendly and welcoming that you feel like home, you here you get the plus of being served great wine and delicious food.

"Their wines have an aroma that invites you to drink more, it's the best spot if you seek a nice venue where to go drink with your friends, while enjoying some good music. On weekends Zlata often invites some DJs to play and entertain the night, while making it more fun."
(says Ilaria, Burbujas Fridays client habituel)

Their incredibly talented chef, Will Hennessey, is a master of fusion cuisine: by adding a kimchi or truffles to an oyster, tartare or ceviche, he will bring a new mesmerizing vibe to the traditional mediterranean taste to your appetizers,

It's always the right time for a good glass of wine, and you don't have to be an expert to enjoy one. Just head to this fantastic bubbly bar and they'll help you pick out a grape that suits your taste. Burbujas Calle Gombau 18-22 08003 Monday Closed Tuesday - Thursday : 18:00 - 01:00
